How do I decide what category I should select?

Review our categories descriptions to determine if your product, solution or service is a fit.

May I apply to more than one category?

Yes. You may submit the same product to multiple categories, or, submit multiple products to the same category. There is no limit to how many applications your company can submit.  

What information is required to submit an application?

It's mandatory for your application to include your company name, company website, product name, company overview, product description, an explanation of the real world application of the product/service, and your company logo. You also have the option to provide up to three pieces of supplementary material.

Will my application information or supplementary materials be published or made public?

Executive of the Year and Service Provider of the Year information supplied in the application may be published.  For all paid product/service categories the information supplied will remain confidential.

What is the cost to apply?

Executive of the Year and Service Provider of the Year are free.  The cost to submit a single application to the product/service categories is $500. 

How do I pay for my application?

Via credit card at the time of submission. 

How are entries judged?

Executive of the Year and Service Provider of the Year will be judged by the Fierce Advisory Council, Fierce contributors and the Fierce editorial team.

Each paid product/service category and the applications will be reviewed by one analyst and one carrier judge against a set of criteria designed to evaluate the product’s ability to make a positive, innovative, real world impact on the wireless and wireline industries. Each judge will provide a score to each set of criteria; scores from each judge are then averaged. The applications with the highest average scores are designated as category finalists and category winners.

What is the judges criteria for the Product/Service ($500 application fee) categories?

  • Effectiveness: Does the platform or service deliver what it promises? Are there quantifiable metrics or case study information that demonstrates the submission’s real value within service provider networks?
  • Ease of Use/ROI: Does the entry improve and significantly impact a service provider’s business case, operational profile, business model and/or overall strategic position?
  • True Innovation: How unique of a product or service is the entry? What problems does it solve? Has it pioneered a new space or way of doing things? Has it sparked entirely new markets or opportunities for service providers? In other words, does it fit the definition of "game-changing?"
  • End-User Impact:: Does the submission support the delivery of a cutting-edge market offering? Does it improve the Quality of Service or Quality of Experience for end users? Does it reduce subscription costs? Does it make it easier for the consumer or business to adopt and/or manage their service?

What is the judges criteria for the Executive of the Year Award?

Submissions will be evaluated based on their ability to demonstrate contribution to the development of the industry through corporate leadership, strategic positioning or technological innovation. 

What is the judges criteria for the Service Provider of the Year Award?

Submissions will be evaluated based on their ability to demonstrate advancement in services, capabilities or coverage.

How is the Best in Show Winner selected?

The "Best in Show" winner will be selected from the paid product/service category winners.

When and how will finalists be notified?

Finalists will be announced on Monday, October 30th.

When will winners be notified?

All winners will be notified on October 30th and announced at the Next Gen Wireless Networks Summit November 28-29 in Dallas, TX.  Please note you must be present at the event to win Executive of the Year and Service Provider of the Year.  For more information about the event please visit the website.

What do winners receive?

Digital logos designating the company and product/service as a Finalist, Winner and/or Best in Show that can be displayed in email signatures, PPT presentations and on the companies website.  Winners and Best in Show will also receive trophies and recognition at the Next-Gen Wireless Networks Summit in Dallas, TX November 28-29.
